PRESS RELEASE

Further to concerns raised by some residents and local sports clubs, members of Attleborough Town Council agreed to place new signage on entrances to Gaymers Meadow in Attleborough. The signs stating that dogs must be kept on leads, went missing, believed stolen, within 24 hours of being installed. Further signs have now been ordered and will be fitted as soon as possible. It is also the Council’s intention to extend the existing picket fence that surrounds the play equipment, to the hedge that runs across the middle of the Meadow.  It is hoped the new fence will funnel dogs to the other area where they are permitted to run freely.  Councillors wished to confirm that these are not new rules and nothing has been changed, as owners have always been requested to keep their dogs on leads at the car park end of the Meadow and are able to take them off their leads, at the further end by the running track.

The Meadow is a multi-purpose recreational space and Councillors feel it is difficult to please all users but have done their best to offer a compromise so all can enjoy the area.
